Today, I’m going to
show you the way how I learn English everyday. Even tough English is not my
daily language, but I will try my best to learn English.
As we know, there are two different types of English : British and American
English. Which one do you prefer to
learn, British or American English?

Variants of
English: which one should you choose?
Deciding
the right English variant for your content is a strategic decision that
requires some careful consideration. Especially because once you have settled
on an approach, you need to make sure that everyone in your company is aligned.
When it
comes to written English, the various forms are distinct in terms of spelling,
grammar and vocabulary. Even though the standard written forms are understandable by all English
speakers alike, a native US English speaker might not identify with a text
written in UK English and vice versa.
So,
your decision will depend on what sort of connection you are trying to
establish with the reader. Therefore,
you need to ask yourself the following questions:
- Which
countries are you targeting?
- What
is the objective of your content? Is it to get information across (like in
the case of technical documentation), or is it to resonate with your
target audience (as is the case with marketing material, social media,
etc.)?
- Where are your main competitors based and what forms of English do they use?

If yes, let’s see how I learn English, both American or
British, here are the ways of mine.
1. Listen to the music which using English as their
lyrics.
Is there anyone doesn’t like music? I don’t
think so. Everyone loves music. Pop, Rock, Religion music, or anything else. Just
listen, and if you start to enjoy the music, try to sing it by read the lyrics
too. Even you don’t know the meaning of the
lyrics, it’s OK. Just listen, and read. (here is the picture of Maher Zain, singer which I like most)
Everyone has a phone or computer, and there
is YouTube inside. You can waste your time by watching something there, using
English subtitle. It will help you to know the correct pronunciation and how to
spell it perfectly at the same time.
Phone is the most important thing for anyone.
Don’t use your phone just for texting. Make your phone looks more usable. There
are many kinds of applications you can use to improve your grammar, vocabulary,
spelling, etc. such as TOEIC Test, British
Council, English Grammar Application, AWABE Learn English, and also a
dictionary application.
Game is good for rebuild your mood and
remove your stress. Set the language of your game to English. If you can run
the game easily by using English, congratulation ! You have learned English
there.
Note book is used to write the words that
you don’t understand the meaning of them. It will help you to increase your
vocabulary too, right? Try to find about 5 words everyday, from lyrics,
articles, news, games, or any applications using English. After you write it,
find the meaning and find how to pronounce it too.
6. Have some International friends
You can find them at many international chat
application. Such as Hit Me Up chat, QQ
International Chat, Babel International Chat, and many more. Don’t be embarrassed
to tell them that you still learn in speaking English. I believe, they will
help you nicely. But be careful, they are not good at all. Some of them may be
has a dirty mind. So, be aware by yourself. If you feel not really comfort to
chat and talk with someone there, just leave them and find the other native
speaker which is good for you. (here is a picture from Hit Me Up Application).

I do it everyday but not all of them. For example, today I play a game and listening to the music, tomorrow I watch a video on YouTube about animal's rescue, etc.
